The consumer WILL NOT end up paying for this in the next sim from Sierra
because
ISW owns the rights and thats why you cant find it anymore!
Personally I'm glad that the Canadian posted the INDY track info! More
power to him
if it doesnt reflect the royalties of Papy/Sierra!! I think Tony
George(owner of IMS)
can set himself on ***ING fire and I'll hand him the match and bring
the "dogs"!!!
I would hope he doesnt recieve any royalties of that software in the
first place!
The greedy idiot destroyed a lifelong tradition of professional CART
racing for generations
that came and will NEVER come again! Because of his own personal greed
only a handful of
noted and respected INDY drivers were among a bunch of hasbeen racers
and rookies!
He practically wrote the death wish for one very talented driver(who I
will not name)
because of his promotion of  higher boost levels!! So *** IMS!!! I wish
Tony's
mother were still alive to smack the SHIT out of him for his childish
and selfish actions!!!
"Rookies and Hasbeens start your engines!"

And MORE have posted that its NOT available! So I will agree with the
majority on this one?

Hi,
I was just wondering why people are all of a sudden posting the
indy track?  Isn't this illegial or is the promission form Sierra to
do this?

Just curious,

I'm pretty sure it is still illegal to distribute the Indy track, but
apparently the people posting it couldn't care less about the legality
of their actions.

Hi Scott:

Unfortunately, you forgot to call the ACLU and Pres. Clinton, I'm sure
they could have fixed all of your problems...  :-)

Well, what else are you supposed to do, buy it? Seeing how they don't
make it any more, and don't sell it anymore, how exactly is Sierra
losing money? If it were still available for purchase, I'd agree
completely. But it's not, and I don't.

It sure is illegal. Some people seem to think piracy is just a
fancy word of no meaning. Hope they will be enlightened the hard
way.

If people are going to distribute pirated software openly on
non-alt newsgroups, service providers might well be forced to
stop the newsfeed. Welcome ignorance and goodbye r.a.s.

If everyone wants the track so bad, why didn't you buy it 2 years ago
when it was readily available?  That's what I did.

Hey, just what that heck do you think you're doing?  You should know a
Usenet newsgroup is no place for logical thinking =)

AFAIK it has nothing to do with Sierra/Papy. IMS hold the
copyright/trademark on the IMS name and licence the reproduction of the
track in whatever form. The licence deal with Papy ran out so Papy no
longer have the right to sell it.

IMS have the right to control the distribution of their trademarks &
property. If you don't like it, complain to them. But theft is still
theft, however you try to rationalise it.

Others have posted that the pack is available from the IMS Museum. If so,
it is still available.

What kinda babble is that?! Have you no understranding for English? Dont
think for
one minute I approve of Piracy! If you will read my post more clearly,
you will see that
My comment about ymenard was to the fact that if it DOES NOT effect
Sierra/PAPY software.
It doesnt matter if it Sierra/Papy, Microprose, whoever if the games no
longer sold or recieving
royalties. Jeez what a bunch of Murmer, look for some new glasses.

Tony George may or may not be the world's prize prat but that still isn't

Stupid thing to say. Some may not have been into computers then or
have just found out how much fun car sims are or may-be they had to
rely on there parents to buy it for them.
