>>Well, what else are you supposed to do, buy it? Seeing how they don't
>>make it any more, and don't sell it anymore, how exactly is Sierra
>>losing money?

>AFAIK it has nothing to do with Sierra/Papy. IMS hold the
>copyright/trademark on the IMS name and licence the reproduction of the
>track in whatever form. The licence deal with Papy ran out so Papy no
>longer have the right to sell it.

>IMS have the right to control the distribution of their trademarks &
>property. If you don't like it, complain to them. But theft is still
>theft, however you try to rationalise it.

>>If it were still available for purchase, I'd agree
>>completely. But it's not, and I don't.

>Others have posted that the pack is available from the IMS Museum. If so,
>it is still available.

For gods sake. How the hell is some one from over seas going to buy it
then. Catch a damn Jumbo jet to the museum. Makes it awefully
expencive to buy if thats the case..

I was replying to someone who, as far as I could tell, was based in the
States, so all he would have to do is get on the phone.

It _is_ a problem getting hold of discontinued software, just as it is
getting hold of out of print books, CDs, etc. But that doesn't suddenly
make it OK to start ripping off those who own the copyright. No one is
forced to sell stuff and no one has any god given right to be able to get
hold of anything that belongs to someone else.
