I have a similiar setup and had the same problem.  I would love to see this
work..

I tried the unified Glide wrapper with my Creatve Labs TNT, running nvidia 0.48
reference drivers and directx6.1 in Windows 98 SE. Under GPL Options, changed to
3dfx then exited and restarted GPL. On the restart, I very briefly see the first
splash screen, then the monitor goes black with no cursor at all. Need to
Ctrl-Alt-Del to kill GPL.

Has anyone got the Unified driver to work with GPL? I wanted to get it working
to see if the OpenGL mirror refresh problem goes away. Maybe the GPL 1.1 patch
will save the day.
