On a previous post many of you liked the Diamond Stealth with the
Monster 3dfx, but I am wondering if this one is better?

Matrox Millimeum II PCI 8mb with the Monster 3dfx.   Is this newest
matrox capable of being a 2d card?

Thanks

Matrox cards have always been the best at 2D .. also according to
benchmarks, the 3D rates on their Mystique 220 are faster then a lot of 3dfx
cards, but they don't look as good . (no bi-linear filtering, ect.) They
have a new add-on 3d card called the m3d that will work with the Millinium
or any other card for that matter.  The m3d will work with Quake 2 as well.

There is nothing faster in DOS than the TSENG Labs 6000 chips...aka STB
Lightspeed 128 or the Herc Dynamite 128 as a few examples...the Lightspeed
128 is actually faster than the Millenium in windows at lower colors e.g 256
which most games ply at anyhow...
