Could somebody please tell me what a good lap time at monza is with all
the driving aids then without auto brakeing then without brakeing and
gears.

The best i've manage so far is 1.29.119 without auto brakeing, I have a
feeling I have quite a way to go :)

Reduce the wings to 5 and 1, and you should be able to get in the
1.25.xxx fairly easily without auto braking.

Well you're not too bad, my best so far is pretty wimpy too, 1.27.067
but that is without any driver aids.

Personally I like the settings as realistic as possible, my biggest problem
so far is that when I take enough wing off to get decent high speeds,
my braking performance drops, and I  loose a lot of time at the end of the
straights trying to slow down. Still this game is great and getting those
times down will be a bunch of fun.

Cheers.

I've done a 1:26.974 but I can't see HOW anyone goes faster - trouble
is they do... Mystery to me.

I've done a 1.24.9xx at Monza, and can regularly pull off 1.25.xxx with
nothing but traction help on.

Set you rear wing to 1, front to 5, set 6th gear to max oout on the
straight (64, I think) then put 40mm packers in the front, 55mm at the
back, and reduce ride height to 15mm front and 44mm at the back.

See if this helps you go any faster.

I've managed a 1:23.863 with some changes to your setup.
I Increased the front wing to 9 which made it possible to stay on the
throttle through more of the fast curves. I also increased the gears a
bit: 1th at 30 and 6th at 66.
For a longer race it will be necessary to increase the front ride
height due to the plank wear of this setup.

(Keyboard driver with nothing but throttle help)

You may find that by upping the front wing to about 13 but leaving
the rear at 1 you get slightly better grip around the bendy stuff,
the only problem is that when you spin, you spin big time. :-)

The other way I found of getting into the corners quicker was to
bring the brake balance well back toward the rear which seems to
get rid of a deal of wheel-lock.

hope this is some help, I have managed a 1.23:6xx, the problem
seems to be doing it again!

Regards

Adrian

trouble is they do... Mystery to me. <<

I've done a 1:24.0 on Monza.  The secret is to go into the
advanced menu (don't be afraid) and lower the ride height just
enough so you get a few yellow spots on your damage indicator in
your***pit.  This means your just touching the ground.

Well it's a start.  I've seen people do 1:20.0 but I find that
hard to believe.

Just keep at it, read the book, and you'll axe them lap times!

No..  that 1:20 was a typo.  It was meant to be 1:22.0.  The fastest i've
heard of is 1:21.6

1m 29.739 with all driving aids on is the best I've done so far. I'm
slowy moving towards ditching autobraking and apologise for my
lameness !!
