Me? Hostile?
Jesus H. Christ....what about the person who called the poster a "moron"?

If a child moves behind my vehicle, sonny, I don't give a tuppenny damn whether
I've checked the rear, sides, top and underneath before climbing into the cab.
Any warning is beneficial.

What is pissing you people off is the fact that the guy posted some spam here.
So what?

Okay Darth....don't like electronic assistance, huh?  Then remove the speedo, the
fuel, oil and temperature gauges/lights from your vehicle.  Oh...whilst you're at
it....got a radar detector?  Take that out as well.

Now.....care to enlighten me as to just _how_ you intend to drive safely?

Exactly what size rear vision mirror do you have attached to your vehicle, Bryan?  Take
the bathroom apart, did you?

Leaky... You're confusing instrumentation with safety. None of the
items you've listed are needed to drive safely.

I gotta agree with Daxe on this issue.

Darth?  I don't get it...
Actually, you can operate a vehicle quite well without those things you
mentioned.  They contribute to *convenience*, not safety.  You're not going to
suddenly become a road hazard because your fuel light or speedometer doesn't
work...
Haven't you ever had a flaky gauge on your car before?

Oh, of course I am.....how silly of me.  And there I was thinking that driving below
the posted speed limit, most particularly in an urban environment, had something to do
with "safety".  Tsk tsk.....I must be more precise in future.

An "SUV"?  That yet another acronym for one of those urban *** vehicles that you folk who
had deprived childhoods just _have_ to own?

Now we're talking sense!  How about everyone is required by law to get
"Invisible Fence", the deal designed for dogs which shocks them if they leave
the yard.  Wandering kids would learn quickly that staying on the green stuff
doesn't hurt, stepping off the green stuff hurts.

I've seen posted speed limits that seemed ridiculously high for
certain conditions, but hey, you just keep staring at that speedo and
you'll be just fine.

Driving *below* the posted speed limit isn't usually necessary unless the
weather conditions warrant it.  Quite frankly, driving *at* the posted speed
limit is only usually warranted when there's someone around to hand you a
ticket for exceeding it.  Likewise, a good driver can estimate his or her
speed pretty accurately without a speedometer.  It's another of those basic
driving skills that you can't seem to grasp.
