Not flaming you Daxe, but in my neighborhood, when I was young, a delivery
van backed over a child who had wandered behind it. It was devestating to
all, the family, the driver and the neighborhood. You know the old saying ,
if it saves one life....

I have the greatest choice of car reverse sensors which help driver
during reversing of the car .

The simplest of such devices warn the driver by means of pulsing sound
alarm about any obstacle . More comfortable have besides sound warning
a distance measure and even inform which part of the car (left or
right ) can strike against the post of the traffic signs or rubbish
container.

The devices are switched on automatically after putting the car in
reverse mode.

Besides I deal with trading in cheap and reliable Eurosec auto
alarms.

I am interested in contacts with companies trading in car accessories

Wassamatta, no mirrors?
Sounds great but Plymouth/Dodge is offering a system like that on the 2000
yr minivans.
I wish you the best however.

If a child suddenly runs(or rides) behind your vehicle, would you really have
time to react even IF you had a warning system?

That's why you make sure no kids are near you when you DO back up...  It's
called Driving 101.  No need to get hostile.

I'm curious at how much this 'Wonder System' is gonna cost, but I don't even
want to waste the time to go to his web site.  I can back up just FINE....

I have a toddler.  Before I even put the car in gear I make darn sure that
she isn't anywhere near it and neither are my dogs.  I drive for a living.
I may be biased, but I think people who accept the responsibility inherent
in driving a car should take at least that much care to monitor their
surroundings without electronic assistance.

I wonder what happens when the user gets so used to having his vehicle tell him
when its "safe" to back up that he stops looking back. Then, one day the electronic
system fails to warn him and he runs over a kid. Who gets sued?
If you use the rear-view mirror, you never need to worry about a system failure.
And if your vehicle has a huge blind spot in the back (i.e. a van or other oversized
road behemoth) , you have to ask, "who was the rocket scientist that BOUGHT a
vehicle with a huge blind spot in the rear?"

When I was growing up, a little kid from a family we socialized with was run
over in the road on my street on his bike.  It had a similar effect.  So,
using your logic, we should all have electronic devices installed that alert
us when something is in FRONT of our cars, too, right?  Or perhaps we should
call that what it was: deadly inattention and lack of control on the part of
the driver resulting in a tragic accident.

For the 'saves one life' maxim, I don't agree with that concept.  It's a bit
like manadatory airbags (also known as PASSIVE restraints) in cars; they
have saved plenty of lives (of people who were too stupid to buckle up) but
they have also severely injured and killed people, too.  What if the
electronic 'reverse sensor' caused you to reflexively turn your steering
wheel in a parking lot while backing up because it detected a burger wrapper
blowing across the parking lot behind your car?  Since you were so good in
reacting to the alarm and swinging your car around the moving burger
wrapper, the front of your car went wide, crushing the little kid NEXT TO
your car against the car next to you in the parking lot.  Do we need side
sensors, too?

I'm sorry.   I  have sensors already.  They are called eyes, ears, etc.
Driving a car requires their constant and competent use.  Electronic sensors
have notoriously poor judgement such that I really wouldn't trust one in a
situation as important as driving.  IMHO we don't need anything that
encourages people to be LESS attentive while they are operating a motor
vehicle.

>Jesus H. Christ....what about the person who called the poster a "moron"?

That was me and I didn't call the person a moron, I called a hypothetical
person who would need the doodad this fellow is spamming us with a moron.

Unless the warning is a false alarm, causing you to do something you
*didn't* plan to do, which may be dangerous to people and things around your
car.

I have an idea!  Lets get a little device that we can strap on toddlers that
makes a loud, horrible noise when they get near a car?

Because I spent most of the last three days around my relatives and my
wife's even more unbearable family.  That's enough to build up the
frustration and anxiety in the most patient of people (which I am not,
either)

No, my vehicles come with satisfactory mirrors. There is no need to take apart the
bathroom. You want to hear a funny story? Last year, I was considering buying an SUV. I
really liked the Chevy 2-door S-10 Blazer. but, when I drove it, I discovered that it has
blind spots that are just too large for me to feel safe with. So, despite all the pluses of
the vehicle, I didn't buy it because I didn't feel safe backing it up.
No need for an electronic gadget sold by some internet spam-meister. Just good common
sense and driving skill.
