I don't think it can, as Papyrus uses CPUID to determine chip type and
looks only for Pentium as an output. Adam said that re-releasing an
updated demo was not a priority, but rest assured that the full version
should run fine on your system.

Anyone have any info on how to get the Nascar2 demo to work on a
Cyrix 686/166 based system ???? If not, Will the released version be
fixed so it will work on said mashine ???? Any info would be
appreciated.

Please also note that the same BUG is in the released version of the
Rendition enhanced ICR2. Those of us/you with the Cyrix P series processors
are out of luck with the Sierra or Intergraph versions of the game... I've
made requests from every conceivable channel and only Intergraph has been
curteous enough to respond. Nada, nothing from Sierra on C-serve, papyrus
on Inet.etc. I do hope they fix it.

I just saw a binary post on the pc.hardware.chips (or whatever it's
called) that claimed to be a fix for the CPUID problem with cyrix
cpu's. A followup post claimed that it fixed the problem with all
software he had tried that required a pentium cpu.
I haven't been able to try it yet. Can this fix the N2 demo?

I have been in touch with the Sierra tech support staff on this one. I
got a call back a day later from a software engineer. He told me that
after my call they tried the Rendition ICR2 on one of their systems
with a Cyrix processor to verify the problem. He said they are now
working on a fix and would give me a call when it is ready.
