At Indy, you can hear the wooden rub pad on the bottom of the car scrape on
the oval part of the track at high speed. The car starts bouncing around,
and if you don't adjust accordingly, it's almost impossible to pass this
part of the track at top speed. On my first few efforts, I flew off of the
track and stuck my nose into the infield wall (pit entrance area). Simply
amazing. I love this sim.
Best guess on ride height from watching F1 races would be to adjust it so
that with a heavy fuel load, the rub pad just touches the track at the
bumpiest part of the course. I'm sure there is far more to it than that,
and someone will elaborate further on my barbaric method.
Low 1:32's at Silverstone now - back to testing. How does Michael do 1:25?
