F12000: Telemetry and Best Laps?

by Axel Schluet » Wed, 12 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Hallo,

maybe I'm blind, but I can't find out in F1-2000 (in the game or
manual) how to save best laps and how to see the telemetry-data (both
like in MGPRS).

Any hints?

Greetings,

Axel

It'll probably be in the patch called 'GP3'.

I don't see anything for telemetry.  Best laps are saved for qualifying and
race and are visible from the players' screen (one of the buttons on the main
screen).

And do you know O/M/I tire temperatures are available from the garage?  Just
move your mouse over the tires.

Probably, but I've heard rumours that (amongst many other things) will be
fixed in the GP(L)2-patch!

garage?  Just move your mouse over the tires.

How do you know if your car is set too low ? Been stuggling with ride
height...

At Indy, you can hear the wooden rub pad on the bottom of the car scrape on
the oval part of the track at high speed.  The car starts bouncing around,
and if you don't adjust accordingly, it's almost impossible to pass this
part of the track at top speed.  On my first few efforts, I flew off of the
track and stuck my nose into the infield wall (pit entrance area).  Simply
amazing.  I love this sim.

Best guess on ride height from watching F1 races would be to adjust it so
that with a heavy fuel load, the rub pad just touches the track at the
bumpiest part of the course.  I'm sure there is far more to it than that,
and someone will elaborate further on my barbaric method.

Low 1:32's at Silverstone now - back to testing.  How does Michael do 1:25?

Well the problem is that adjusting the ride heigth will mean that
you must re-adjust many other settings to keep the chassis
neutral (in a driving sense) . The F1 2000 manual does have a
*VERY* good list of what everything effects.

1:25?

I just hit 1:32.3's at silverstone too. I took the default setup, set 7th at
1.09
and 6th at 1.23, then switched to soft tires, and *BOOM* pretty darn
good laps considering :-) 1:32 is good enough to be 2 seconds a
lap faster than 80% opponents.

1:25?

Hi , I'have been doing Silverstone too this week got a 1:24:915. The trick?
Well I didn't cheat first of all , but play around with the wingangle(needs
to be high)
and gearratio's also don't forget to lower rear tire pressure too. Where to
post?
Is there a way to save a hotlap?

Regards,
Leroy  ( I hold the city record at this moment )

Dream wrecker.  Guess I'll need to get off of the track, and into the
garage.
