While it is a great effect...does anybody other than me think the guys who
wrote RT over use the sun glare?

I think it's perfect.  It's blinding just like it would be (is) in real
life.  I keep a pair of shades handy.  Helps quite a bit.

I'm a fan of it. I don't think it's "over used". If it was over used,
wouldn't it be in every track all the time?  It's quite the opposite
really.. some tracks don't even have the effect, while some others only have
it for certain sections.
Take Russia 1 for example, there's that one big uphill straight, where you
get blinded by it! I think it's great, and it looks awesome in the rain too
:)

But, I do see what you mean though. Especially since a lot of people
complain about taking a big performance hit with that whole sun glare thing.
There -should- have been an option to turn it off, but there's ways of doing
it from what I've read on the RT message board.

This is proof that no matter how good something is, there's always someone
who disapproves.

I did find a way to turn it off at RT Relay...just a new file to put in the
folder...haven't tried it yet..but by using the 'rename' function you should be
able to turn it on and off...though it would be nice if there is a future patch
it was in 'options'...

Wasn't that a toggleable option after the patch?  I thought I saw that in
the readme for the patch that was posted here....

You have to move the effects slider in the options menu all the way to
off to get the sunglare to disappear. You will also lose the rain, the
dust and the dirt on the car that way.

According to the description at RT Realy this patch ONLY effects the sun
glare...as I said I just got it this morning and haven't tried it yet...will
post how it works if I don't see it from anyone else before then...

Saw the interview as part of a show at the time of*** Schaap's death...it was
too good not to use for something...

Very nicely done, the best I have ever seen. I love it.
