GP3 strangeness

I've just upgraded my PC to Athlon XP1700+, GE3 Ti200 and on my prime
sim, GPL, its great. However, I've just tried GP3 and get very odd
behaviour there with a 1-2 sec latency between my turning the steering
wheel (ActLab ForceRS) and the car responding .... needless to say this
makes the game utterly unplayable!

Has anyone seen anything like this and (more importantly) got a
fix/workaround?

Things used to be ok before my upgrade (then was P3-450 + V3-2000)
