So what's the list of desired items we'd like to see included in the
inevitable hacker produced GPL Editor ? Let me suggest ...

1) Opponent Level Adjustments.( Yes I see you can already do this via
the .INIs' but all the easier in a "Gp2 Editor" style dialog box
system ).

2) Damage Control for all levels. ( If we want to go through our
learning curve at the highest level in GP cars, but with a safety net,
then why shouldn't we be able to ? We buy sims to let us do on
computers want we can't do in real life. Why then have sims stop us
"playing" in the way we feel is the most fun ? Many sims do this and
its only serves to frustrate. Its interesting to note that about the
first thing hackers usually do with various sims is to disengage the
damage facility from the higher levels. If sim makers took some note
of the common improvements and enhancements  made by hackers they
might learn a thing or two about the options people like to have in
their sims)

3) The usual car painters and graphics painters. ( Yes I know that '67
cars were plain by today's standards by I think many will still want
to paint their own cars and helmets etc.)

Anything else you might thing of ?

Still waiting for GPL to arrive downunder.

Cheers

I would love an editor that gives you the option to...

1. Change the power and torque curves for the engine.. I fancy having a go
at the ring in a 2000+ bhp turbo car ;)

2. Change tyre grip levels to that of modern F1 car.

Basically I want to try out an faster than F1 car on the ring. Now. Heresy I
know!

I would like to see something where you could remove certain pieces of scenery
from tracks, ie barriers.

Then we could all try out the monza banked circuit!!

Yeah!  Man I wish they would have opened up that banked oval at Monza!

But if they didn't code that part of the track, removing the barrier won't do
any good :(

I hope someone like Mr. Noonan can come up with a way to get the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway from Indycar Racing into GPL.  That would be
a kick!  The man is amazing, and I'm sure if it can be done, he'll get
it done.

A method by which we can model new cars. By this I mean that we can
create the characteristics of a modern F1/Indycar, Super tourer, GT
car (or for that matter Can-Am, historic Le Mans, etc.). I'd love to
drive a turbo-era ground effects car around Spa.
I'm assuming this is do-able - as I understand it the cars in GPL are
modelled in terms of the masses of their various components, grip,
torque, and suspensions. A car editor would need to address all this
stuff.
