GPL Track Editor?

GPL Track Editor?

So will there be an editor? Anyone know if one could be made like Traxx was
for MTM2? I'd like to see these cars on an oval. The different
characteristics of the cars, drafting, etc., could make for some fun
multiplay racing at the VROC site (very cool by the way).

Wow, don't give anyone any time and they are already looking for new tracks.
;-)
I really doubt you'll see the kind of editing like in the past, and I doubt
Sierra would have a track maker for your PC.  These tracks are incrdibly
complex compared to ICR1/ N1/ICR2/N2, basically the track definitions are just
huge, and to think about the grafx being more complex there's even more work.

Don't look for Sierra to release a track editor since you will pretty much hurt
yourself for liscencing tracks in the future, notice for CPR has no sequel or
that MTM2 has no real tracks?  As for a privateer making a track editor for
GPL, it may happen, but it's gonna be a ways off just because of the complexity
of it all (and then they probably wouldn't release it or ask a lot of money for
it).

Just hope when NR(3)2000 comes out that the tracks can be converted between the
2, although I don't see these cars (GPL) doing well on high banks.  Maybe it
could actually make NASCAR 3 interesting by having some 'real' race tracks
instead of the nascar wc ovals, don't u think it would be interesting to run
NASCAR cars in GPL tracks?

Hope.

:-)   Well, the thought just happened to cross my mind so I threw it out
there. It has been discussed in the past but not lately. I've done some
track editing myself and was curious.

work.

Track definitions? Not sure what you mean by that. I don't see where the
tracks, or graphics, are incredibly complex. Very nice, but overall somehwat
sparse compared to other sims like MGP.

If the reason for no editor from Sierra is future problems with track
licensing, then that's certainly understandable.

I think I remember hearing someone say they were working on one. It would be
nice if someone could make one similiar to the Windows style Traxx program
created for editing MTM2 tracks. There's some talented editors out there.
No doubt it can be done, but we'll just have to wait and see.
