MTM2: 1st game tracks + track/truck editor

by Mike » Thu, 21 May 1998 04:00:00

Hi people,

1. the ReadMe.txt file included with MTM2 states that those without the
original MTM1 tracks can download them from Microsoft's site.  The link
they provide doesn't corroborate.  A search of the MS site reveals only
a couple of add-on tracks to the original.
Owners of MTM2: Read this file, I don't think I got it wrong -- they
said we could download the tracks for free!  It's not the end of the
world if that's not the case; it's just that I have a really short
attention span and need variety.  I have tried some user-created tracks
for MTM1 and they work fine, though they incorporate those silly
christmas trees and wimpier terrain textures than MTM2 supports.  Does
anyone have an official word on this?

2.  I went to TRI's site and saw no info on a future track/truck editor
for MTM2.  I read on a game-related site that one was forthcoming.  has
anyone any info on this?

3. I am so-o-o ***ed to this retarded game!

Thanks and "Boogyvan is doing it. . . in the air!"

I've downloaded several MTM1 tracks from here and the majority of them WORK
with MTM2.. it's great! An excellent util for importing/organizing tracks
with these too,
is POD-X - it's a 9k zipped file, also available there under the 'Useful
Files' section.

You guys will be happy to know TRI was at the ZONE fri at 8:00 (central)
about 5 of the persons from the development team chatted And Raced the Trial
version for about 3 hours!!!  What a blast.  THey have promised the release
of Track/Truck editor, but not sure how soon!  By thursday a synopsis of the
chatsession should be posted in the mtm site at the zone (I believe that was
what was said).

Yes the old tracks will work on mtm2 however the gfx are not updated as far
as the scenery!!  At least till the trakmeisters Like yeastman possibly
remake their Famous tracks insid tracked"2" (refered jokingly as porting by
some track makers), however before I left some thought maybe the great
Yeastman tracks were clasics and wont be "ported"  which dissapointed me...

Wish you were there!
