We think alike! I just re-installed SCGT the other day and have been
messing around with it again. We also have similar system specs.
I have a P3/933 GeForce 2 MX...
I don't have the same problem as you, so I'm thinking there must be
something you're missing.
First, don't use the framed mirror. It can easily eat 10fps. Not sure
why, but it's a killer. I used the unframed version and still get
nice, smooth play (haven't checked my rates).
It's possible that your GeForce is actually slower at 640x480 than at
1024x768. Never confirmed it, but I remember reading on one of the
hardware sites that GeForce performance was worse at 800x600 than at
higher resolutions. Perhaps that also holds true for 640x480.
Can you be more specific as far as add-ons go? I'm only using the
1.551 patch and the Advanced Options editor. Is it possible one of
your sound patches,***pits, etc are screwing you up?
SCGT is a great game. Like Viper Racing, it's one of those games you
can come back to every few months and it feels fresh again.
