I've got it working great except that the pedals are always activated. How
do I play with the settings so that it gives me a bit bigger of a deadzone?
I basically don't know how to use the filters that the game is using, so if
someone could explain that to me it would be great.

download dxtweak2
with my old logitech wingman I had to hold the car in a low gear with
the accelerator flat so that it wouldn't pick up any braking in the
braking tests... but then dxtweak2 fixed everything and all is happy.
