New theory on disco's in GPL-Online

by Markus Stiep » Sat, 22 May 1999 04:00:00

Hi folks!

Yesterday I had 2 disco's from races on VROC after a month of stable
online-***. The joke is, that both these disco's occured directly after I
had typed a (short) chat-message while driving, and as soon as I pressed the
"enter"-key, I was gone. I also noticed there was a *lot* of chatting going
on in both races, and having returned to SpyBoy, I snatched up the word
"flooding the chat-buffer". Was this just coincidence or an explainable
phenomenon? If latter is the case, can someone please explain the technical
aspect of this issue?

Hi Markus, I have noticed the same effect upon pressing the ~ key to
re-enter the chat, and on a number of occasions got disco'd upon
trying to find out connection latency. Maybe this is another thing
that Papy should take a closer look at with the upcoming patch.
