I always use the Java version of VROC.
Just click on the link, fill in the details and double-click on the race you
want.
Easy as pie.

Easy GPL Online?

Is there an easy way to play GPL online? I have heard of VROC, but it seems
to be heavily documented, and the only time I have to do this is after I put
my little girl to bed, and by then I am brain dead.

OK, I know, poor excuse, but that's the way it is... Isn't there a
transparent utility to race online?

Many thanks

Yeah, I thought the same about VROC too....looked like a lot of
documentation to read and understand before getting online.

Well, don't worry about all that, just download the VROC client
http://www.vroc.net/html/common/winvroc.htm#download ) and install it. It
asks where your GPL directory is located and that is it. Fire up VROC and
off you go. It will show you a list of races and how much time is left in
qualifying, along with all your ping times. Just hit join on any race and it
opens GPL and takes you right to the multiplayer race.

If your curious about the flag info next to race titles or any other item in
the VROC window (most are self explanitory) just take a quick peek at help
drop down or go to http://www.vroc.net/html/common/help.htm

See you at the races.

I just tried VROC monday for the first time, and I was surprised at how easy
it was... to participate that is, not to win ;)
Just click a "non-password" race to join, or find somebody to race with in
the GPL chat. When you click the race, WinVroc open GPL and does all the
rest, all you have to do is drive...

Mmmm, not that easy in my case...

In GPL's connection status page, my system freezes on opening network
device. I have a home LAN, and a cable modem, and I think this must be
confusing it. I read what VROC and Allison have written about a problem like
this, but they don't discuss this one in particular. Any clues on hwo I
should adress this to?

Many thanx,

Zen.

Bingo!

Wow, I disabled zonealarm, and I popped my GPL Online Cherry by remembering
to late how to handle the Curva Grande in Monza.

Thanks Martin...
