Is it possible to remove them on a server for online races?

I know you can remove the plates in single player by altering the
track.ini entry for chassis.  We changed the .ini on the server, but
when we try to connect, we get a message about failing technical
inspection.

Am I missing something?  I'd really like to host some non-restrictor
plate races at Talladega and Daytona.

From what I understand, the server and client's INI files must match, or the
client gets the error message.  The only way I know to remove the plate
would be to have all your racers use the same modified track INI as the
server.
