N4 - Dedicated Server Question

by Larr » Thu, 15 Feb 2001 12:38:01

If COX ROADRUNNER IN FAIRFAX ***IA (there, I feel better) ever gets their
incredibly latent network working right (folks, our latency is measured in
seconds, not milliseconds), I want to do some dedicated racing on weekends.

Here's my question...

I want to turn on the Rankings options.  When I launch the server, it blasts
past the page where you configure this.

If you try to 'back' your way out to it, you just end up quitting the
server.

I've hit escape when it's logging in, and I can do some configuration things
here (what IP to use, etc...) but the next screen is where the Rankings are
configured and I have found no way to stop the damned thing so I can
configure them.

Any idea's ?

This is running the server app, not the standard N4 app.

TIA!

-Larry

You can edit the server's player.ini manually, or hold the left-shift key
down when launching the dedicated server to prevent the server from
advancing through the screens (hold it down until the main menu loads).
