Ensoniq Wavetable card and F1GP

by Quixo » Sat, 21 Oct 1995 04:00:00

While the card works just fine it seems to have picked a rather poor
"voice" to synthesize the sound.  My car sounds like a ***y piano!
How can i change the sound if it is possible?

Any help is appreciated,

eric

It is a known problem and is extremely annoying, especially with such
a great card (and game). I don't know of any fix available.

I limit the damage by using the Roland sound option and running the
MT32 program before hand.

It isn't really possible. The Ensoniq is a great card. I have one. I also have
a SB Pro installed right next to it. The Ensoniq will reproduce the SB Digital
just fine. It basicly barfs when it tries to emulate the SB FM effects. All of
the sound effects in F1GP are FM. So I use my SB Pro for older games, which do
not have native Ensoniq support. If F1GP2 is not a WIN95 game, it should no
doubt have native Ensoniq support. So you shouldn't have this problem again.
