I just finished playing the demo of F1rs2. It allows you to play Monaco and
Austria. The graphics of Austria are completely breathtaking, and Monaco is
virtually the same, except the Tv screens work in the direct 3d mode now.
There are a few new features to the D3d version, for you can see the grass on
your tires now, and you can see the brake dust when you brake. The cars are
also modelled independently for each team, although the real teams are not
used. This is not a problem because you can identify the teams from the
drivers name (eg, M schumacher is called M. Schmidke etc..). The***pits are
also the same from F1rs, so editing the teams to reflect the actual team should
be a breeze.
The framerate at Monaco is faster, and there is really no slowdown. On my Ati
card, there is a significant increase in framerate. The cars are modelled
beautifully, and the sun reflecting on the bodywork is breathtaking.
So you editors out there, start working, because you have a solid foundation to
build on.
Overall rating for the demo: 98%
