The GPL community has been crying out for GPL2 for ages, so why all of a
sudden would nobody buy it?

Did you know GPL actually sold in line with expectations in europe? Sierra
said they were not dissapointed with european sales at all.
GPL2 has a few things in it's favour to do a little better than GPL,
assuming of course that there is a GPL2 in production. For instance-
- it's more recent and the cars look much more like modern F1 cars
- the cars also look more exciting
- it will run much better on current hardware than GPL did when released (I
remember running GPL at 16 fps in training)
- the cars will have more grip (through downforce) and should be easier to
drive
- there are more PC owners than 3 years ago
- GPL has a good reputation
- Papyrus have a good reputation and N4 has spread this reputation wider
All things in it's favour. Anyway, I guess DK will be making it mainly
because he wants to make it and not simply for sales.
