RICK GENTER - NO steering in multiplayer race ?

I am having problems trying to link my computer and a friends via
modem. The connection appears to be good. I can Drive fine but Joe
(the friend) can't steer (gas & brake OK).
He is running Windows 95 and I am running Dos 6.22. Does that matter?
Will he have to create aboot disk to start in true dos? Is there true
Dos in WIN 95? I'm I off base? What gives?
Any help will be appreciated.
