Me too... I hope the original boxed copy which should be dropping through my
letter box this Friday does work!  If not, I think it's time for a new
graphics card...

On the brighter side, even with my ancient ATI Mach 64 (2Mb PCI 2D graphics
card), in software mode it's every bit as quick as GP2 is.  No slow down,
even at Monaco.  This is with an Intel Celeron 500Mhz.

Even though you may not have 2 Voodoo2 cards, have you tried editing the
cards.txt file per the readme file?  Instead of setting the value of
slivoodoo2 to 1, try setting it to 0.

That might be enough to at least get your card recognized.  It's worth a
try.

If not, try the latest reference drivers from 3Dfx.  My Voodoo 2 SLI
set-up runs GP3 just fine.

I have SLI, changed the settings from 0 to 1, installed the latest
3dfx drivers, nada.
I have Diamond Monster V2 8mb SLI, what do you have?

Andre,

I posted this before as well.  I have 2 Voodoo2's, each is 12 Megs.  1 is an
STB Blackmagic.  The other is a 3Dfx V2-1000.

Do you have to create cards.txt yourself ?

With my single 8Mb Diamond V2, I have no cards.txt and in the the other .txt
file (can't remember the name - the one that looks like it lists teh results
of the calib test), I have entries for sofware mode, my main card, and my
V2, but my both entries other than than s/ware have "unavailable" against
them

Anyone have any luck with a single 8Mb V2 ?

TIA

Andy

This is exactly my experience. 8MB voodoo 2 listed but grayed out, no
cards.txt.

Thomas

This registry entry does indeed make GP3 allow my Diamond 8Mb V2 card to be
selected in the graphics options - so well done, indeed !!

For me however, it gives corrupted and missing textures and so on (latest
3dfx drivers, Dx 7.0), so I'm still in s/ware mode.

But congrats on finding this anyway !

I checked this on my Voodoo2 12Mb in SLI. Nope. Still Voodoo2 looks like
software mode with greater CPU hit. Anybody knows a solution.
