N3: Pit road rev limit: qual on-line?

It seems there is a rev limiter on pit road
during on-line qual.  For example, at Tally
it is around 7000 rpm/65 mph.  Does everyone
get this?  I can understand why it's
there since I can qual 1-2 mph faster by
flooring it down pit road in an off-line AI
race.

I haven't tried the patch yet, if that makes
a difference.  I guess the rev limiter is
another undocumented on-line N3 feature.  Do
they have it at every track?

This feature has been around since NASCAR 2, It is to prevent cheaters from
having fast qual times. Max speed at all traks is 69mph, once you hit 70 it
slows back down.

Yes, it is at every track when running online.

Yes.  And that's always been a part of Mulitplay even back to N2.  It checks
your speed every second or so while you're running down pitroad and smashes
you back down to speed if you're going too fast.  Don't count on it to keep
your speed at the speed limit though.   It'll let you speed up fast enough
to get a BF before it smashes you back down.

The patch leaves it in. Since it applies to
every driver I consider it a "non-factor".

Also, the host starts at the T4 end of pit
road. He would have a decided advantage over
everyone else if that speed limit wasn't in
effect during qualifying.

How, because of the extra road to warm the tires?  On every track(except maybe
talladega) it's not a *speed* issue, because you still have to slow down in
T4...
