circuit city has n99 for sale for 19.99 this week.  i looked at it but aside
from a few new trax and the supertrucks,it seems the same as n2.  does it have
double file restarts throughout the race and do cars that are lapped start on
the inside row??
what other features were added to make the game worth buying that n2 doesnt
have??   thanks          don

Yes, the double file restarts with lapped cars going to the inside works
very well. Several more tracks, and the truck series is great. N99 is well
worth the investment. The graphics are better, and  some of the existing
tracks are redesigned. Plus it is win95 native, except for the rendition
version.

If you have a 3dfx card then NR99 is *WAY* worth it. It is much better
than the 3dfx patch for N2 which is floating around ( I thought that patched
sucked BTW). NR99 is cool, and on a p2-450 with voodoo2 12MB it is
totally fluid...

Disagree.  In some ways - the AI is actually worse.  The pile-up in turn 1
(that I was able to fix with AI changes at most tracks) - is now a big
stutter-start before the s-f line.  Cars go from 55 - to 35 - to on the
gas - and you either run into them or lose them.  This is a BIG problem and
I have yet to find a fix for.

The computer cars (Artificial Intelligence)

Also, the AI is terrible at the start.  After that, though, it makes you
seem very slow again <g>.
