Hi there !

As I read some of you already have a copy of MM...on the offical M$-Site
there wasn't even a demo to be downloaded ;-(

Bug or feature ??

Demo of Midtown Madness

The 'release' of this game has been bizarre to say the least.  A demo was
promised, but not delivered, even after the release.  There was no reliable date
given for the release, some people claim to have purchased it a month or more
ago, it showed up at my local CompUSA with no fanfare after I had been trying to
dig it up for a couple weeks.

My guess is that they discovered there might not be a good way to let you only
have part of the game in a demo.  There is really only one 'track', so it seems
like you would have had to download the whole game (huge download!) to play a
little bit, then someone would have discovered a way to play everything else
without buying it.

That's exactly right ... this would have been obvious during
development though, so I'm not sure who would have promised a demo.
Probably a marketing drone.
