RAS NR2002 Race still on for Sunday?

I was in that race for practice & Qual (6th, he he) but didn't recognise any
names so figured it was wrong race.  During practice I was taken out,
intentionally, twice and caught up in another questionable wreck.  So I
bailed b4 the race started...

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the
citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a
double-edged sword. It both emboldens the ***, just as it narrows the
mind.  And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the
*** boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no
need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry,
infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their
rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I
have done. And I am Caesar."   -- Julius Caesar

Dammit...  I was hoping that someone from r.a.s. would have been able to grab
it... :(  I'm going to have to get DeMons loaded on it.  Hopefully, it gives
VROC-like control.
Sorry guys.

Not sure of the handle, Eldred.   I was too po'd the 2nd time cause I knew
he was waiting for someone, & I thought I could get around him... he went
slowly down to the apron in the trioval & came up as I was going by... oh,
well.

I'll know it when I see it, though.

I don't understand what you mean by "VROC-like control".  With DeMONS,
you can schedule races at specific tracks *ahead of time*, configure an
unlimited number of DeMONS hosts, repeat a race at the same track
forever, just once, or pretty much any value in between.

DeMONS doesn't allow you to specify an open/setup server.  It's original
intent was for use by league admins that know their season schedules
ahead of time, and allows scheduling accordingly, and nobody's managed
to provide any valid reasons to change the original scope of the
program.

Eldred, if you have ANY questions at all, don't hesitate to ask.

RAS NR2002 Race still on for Sunday?

1) In preparation for the race, is there anyplace we can get people's
car files for those that intend to run this even?  Is there an R.A.S
Board Racing web page?

2) Would anyone mind sharing a setup with someone (me) who doesn't have
even a glimmer of setup prowess where stockcars are concerned?

3) Speaking of road-course setups, I'm seeing something that reaches
down deep into my inner most self and shakes it ***ly while
screaming "ARE YOU F*CKING CRAZY?!"  At the Glen, when I hit a bump
(curbs), especially in the inner loop, the car goes up on the two
outside (loaded) wheels and stays there for an AMAZING amount of time.
Now, the amateur physics teacher in me says that's not right because you
can't control a car that is only using two wheels to support the car
through a turn.

4) My best speed at the glen is 114's (once or twice), but usually
113's, and in race conditions usually 111-112's.  I get the sneaky
suspicion that this is only a mediocre lap time, yet I consistenmtly
qualify up front (usually no further back the 4th or 5th in pickup
races).

5) At Sears Poiitn (in N4), I was turning 94-95mph laps (again,
mediocre), but I honestly haven't gone to that track in NR2002 but maybe
once or twice, probably because I don't have a decent setup.

6) When you guys are talking about lap times, are you talking about
setups that can last for an entire realistic green-flag run, or are you
talking about setups that can maybe last 10 laps you've baked the tires
off the car?

RAS NR2002 Race still on for Sunday?

Joey Chitwood !!!!  :)

Guessing here, but I have a feeling some of the GPLer's will have setups
that don't last long, more concerned with lap times than a race setup.  Then
again, for the first race, I think a rc is nuts, just asking for a wreckfest
since lots are new to stock car sims, don't know each other, etc. :)
