F1RS Patch 1.07 is out!

Don't know if anyone has posted this already, but 1.07 is on Ubi's web site.
I've tried it out and the force feedback is not bad. Don't know yet about
other issues like 'black sky' etc., but I'll report later.

F1RS Patch 1.07 is out!

Are there any files that explain what was fixed? I really hate it
when a new patch comes out and there is nothing explaining
what is fixed. I expect the global settings to be fixed, so that
you don't have to re-select manual shifting just because you
changed driving modes.

UBI said that they would not change the way that the options regarding
shifting work, and they haven't!

F1RS Patch 1.07 is out!

by pobste » Sun, 22 Feb 1998 04:00:00

not bad...i thought it was ever-so-slightly unimpressive.
I've got the MS ffb, and all i get is rubbling rubble strips OCCASIONALLY,
and mildly bumpy grass - again occasionally.  I've been driving into walls
and only sometimes get a bump...I somehow kind of expected a bit more...
steering loading up at speed, something...not just generic ffb features...
maybe just me on that one...

If you are wondering, its running on 200mmx, 96meg, orchid 3dfx, and the
ms performance update for the joystick,,,all very exciting.

Pobster, mildly dissappointed.

F1RS Patch 1.07 is out!

I have down loaded it, and I am very impressed!!!

I have a voodoo Rush card, and the big problem of no load button is now
fixed!
I can also watch replays, and they have sound in replays.
Menu selection seems faster now too, but I have updated my CD ROM recently
too, but tracks now load well before the music stops playing at the load
screen.
I think the frame rate looks even better than before.
Now it is off to the download areas, to look for settings, until now, I
never bothered to change setup, because I was never able to load my saved
files before.
It took UbiSoft a little while, but they certainly have outdone M.S. and TRI
when it comes to Patching broken programs.
It is now time to remove CPR from my computer forever, as I see no signs of
a future patch. (At least UbiSoft told us they were still working on it!)

UBIsoft F1 is now the King of Race Simulation! (In my opinion)
Now let's see, about those new car graphics, and that Kali multiplayer
program.
Time to go race!

F1RS Patch 1.07 is out!

Regarding this "patch" has anyone tried running the game with a steering
wheel? FF joysticks are fine, but I can't drive a car with any sort of
stick... SO WHY does the darn thing have a great big hole in the middle of
the controller's travel. Fine on a JS but useless on a wheel.....

Moreover, didn't anyone else notice the lack of FLAGS?? Haven't you played
F1GP2 and seen all the other flags for things like oil on the track and so
on???? Or were they all dumped for the 1997/8 season?

Nonsense! A wheel is almost essential for F1RS. It is superb with the
Thrustmaster Grand Prix!

Sorry, but with my humble Destiny wheel the game is tremendous and I to often
hurtle into unfortunate track marshalls warning me of perils ahead!
This game is the best.

There were no other flags in gp2 that F1rs doesn't have.  The black flag or
penalty, and yellow flags.  The only place gp2 had the flags you mentioned was
in the manual.

 Hi there
I have a destiny wheel & its great, Its the same wheel
they use on some consols (Top Gear was reviewing driving simms &
they were using a destiny wheel witha different name on it.
Do you setup yours as a joystik or T2 with adapter ??

Whatever Ubi did to "correct" network play with this patch, it SUCKS!
I go into Kali, then launch F1RS, and if I hit alt-tab to get back to
Windows, everything is PATHETICALLY SLOW! It takes 5 seconds to move a
window, 10 seconds to open an app, etc etc. It is now just about
impossible to multitask with F1RS running. It was not like this before
the 1.07 patch.

In a month's time you'll be heading back to Dixons with a partially
working Destiny wheel.

I did it twice, then got my money back and bought a Thrustmaster F1.
