HELLO!
Please (everyone) read what I wrote before you flame me.... I BUILT A WHEEL
to play F1rs!!! I DON'T LIKE STICKS - that's what I SAID - read it again and
you'll get it.
The point I made is that the game seems to have a very large dead spot in
the centre of the travel to account for JOYSTICK users. Since I can drive, I
find this quite unnerving. BTW: Codemasters TOCA works correctly: it's not
a problem with my hardware.
Then something hits me - someone mentioned I might be set up as a joystick.
Now, 'scuse me, but I thought (wrongly) that all the listed controllers were
sticks. Turns out (and I stand corrected) that at least DX5 and F1rs does
account for both types! There IS a dead spot - but only for the stick users.
Wheels *are* handled correctly.
My apologies to anyone I misled with this assumption. Oddly, I seemed to
have missed this in the manual.... errrm. I'm mailing a copy of this to
UbiSoft so their tech people are aware of explebs like me who should know
better. [*crawls into a corner and weeps pitifully*]
For those debating self-build.... buy one. It's simpler and for my money (if
I had any - I traded it for a wife and 2 kids) the Thrustmaster takes a
heluva lot of beating.
