Having just trashed the throttle potentiometer from my MS USB FFBW, I need
to get another. I've just had a look at some MS Precision Pro pedals in a
shop, which look the same as the USB FFBW pedals. Can anyone confirm whether
the pedals from these two wheels are interchangeable?

Cheers,

Chris

They should be exactly the same pedals.
But can't you just get a new pot from Microsoft?

I don't know where to start looking - they don't make it easy... Any
warranty is going to be invalid, so I'd have to pay - and there are
Precision Pro sets on eBay for not much. The rest of the guts of the PP
could maybe come in handy too - if the pot's going to work.

Cheers,

Chris

Why not take the offending pot out, take it to an electronics shop, and ask
for "one of these that works, please"?

It's a special joystick pot, probably custom made for Microsoft. It rotates
something like 30-60 degrees instead of the normal 270-300 degrees. I don't
think you will find an electronics shop that carries something like that.
But I've heard it's possible to order them from Microsoft directly.

Yes, they are can be interchanged.

I have two Precision Pro and one MSFF, I have used one of the Precision
pedals and have the original MSFF ones on the box for future use.

Only the wheel uses an optical sensor, the pedals have standard pots.

No, they are not.
The steering is optical, but that's another matter

Never wore one out in 4 years.  Figured they were optical too.
