HELP N2 NO WORK

by Dave Mollo » Thu, 26 Sep 1996 04:00:00

I've got a Pentium 133 and 16MB RAM so life should be good, right?  I
love Indycar II and the original Nascar but I want to play this N2demo
so bad my accelerator foot is twinging!  My problem, glad you asked.
Got the sound to work in setup, even heard the announcer give me the
10-4, joy of joys.  But when I select a track to drive in either single
race or championship mode, the game does not respond.  Everything else
looks good in setup, even all the controls including the T2 wheel.  If
any of you fellow race fans out there can help I'd really appreciate
it.  Thanks in advance for all the free help.

Dave,
This happened to me at first. The cure was one of the following (I did
both at the same time, so I'm not sure which one worked)
(1) Use the univbe install option in the setup programme
(2) Get rid of all the uneccesary stuff in your config.sys and
autoexec.bat (eg. off the top of my head, I removed emm386, smartdrv,
mscdex and other CD rom drivers, and made sure I had a mouse driver, my
sound card stuff, dos=high, umb and not a lot else). I found that the
config I used for Nascar 1 worked fine.

Good luck, and e-mail me if you need more info.
