Sound won't work in N2 Help!!!!

My brother just bought N2 and did a full install.  When configuring the
sound card with an Auto Detect the result came back with Microsoft Sound
System, but the game will not work.  He currently is running N1 with the
Sound Blaster Pro 8 Mono config and having no problems.  When he trys to
use a Sound Blaster card in N2 it either makes no sound or locks up the
system.  If anyone can help me help him I would greatly appreciate it.

 If I'm not mistaken, NASCAR2 will use the settings in your dosstart.bat
(c:\windows\)
file to set resources for the sound card. Check and make sure the values in
the windows control panel | system | devices  matches what is being set in
the dosstart.bat file. It's possible the resources (IRQ, DMA) Win95 calls
for don't match the dosstart.bat file.
This is assuming, of course, that you're using Win95.
