The "ideal" force feedback setting - any suggestions?

by Luis Sot » Tue, 01 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Hi fellas,

I just purchased a LWFF wheel, and everything seems to be working fine.
However, I am not sure if the forces I am feeling are the "right" ones.  I
find that the Ferrari oscillates in a seemingly random fashion, to the
extent that I sometimes get porpoising down long straights - makes it hard
to catch the car when it starts to get away from me, or to 4-wheel
drift...it just becomes "spastic."  The effects seem a bit out of date, and
I suspect that it's the latency setting.

But this is curious, since I have the latency at 0.15 (in core.ini), and I

profiler Version 3.25).  I suppose I need to increase this value (?)  any
thoughts?  Could someone more experienced recommend settings?

Other than that, it seems like a very nice product, even though at this
point I feel like I'm*** on to the tiger by the tail...(!)

Many thanks,
L.S.

Hi Louis, just a quick suggestion, since this was the initial prob I had
with FF too (albeit with an MSFF); does it have an "return to centre" option
somewhere? You may want to ease off on those values to get rid of the
"see-sawing".

Hope it helps,
Matt/GPLEA
