GPL new track question...

by Ramon L. Negro » Tue, 01 Aug 2000 04:00:00

Hi:
 Just bought GPL and I love it! Runs great with my system with all
details maxed out (Dell XPS500). The learning curve is steep, but very
rewarding once you get that 4-wheel drift going.

I downloaded a track (Sears Point) from a site however, the only
instructions were to copy the files to the track directory. I created a
subdirectory for the new track but, when I started GPL, I couldn't find
it.

Anybody can help me with this.

TIA,

Cuco

In the seasons folder you have to edit the file:67'Season.ini, and add the
event with the same entries as are in the other tracks. there will be a
list in the file. Come and visit our fine racing community when you get
some tracks down well at:
http://vroc.net/. Hope this works for you.

You also need to change the number of events in the first line (add 1 of
course!)
make a new directory in the 'tracks' sub-directory called searspt
Put all the track files in there
Then add the following lines to the end of both your 67season.ini and your
GP.ini (both in your seasons directory) replacing XX with the total number
of events, matching the number in the first line (if you see what i mean:)))

[EventXX]
name=Sears Point Grand Prix
shortname=Sears GP
trackDirectory=searspt
month=1
day=2
numberOfLaps=80
startingGrid=4

Thanks, Tim, now it works.
