No Sound In NASCAR 2 or Burnout NIRA

by AdCompuS » Tue, 12 Oct 1999 04:00:00

Hi,

I have an ESS 1869 chipset PCI soundcard.  For some reason, on one of my
computers (K-5 166) the sound comes out way too fast on NASCAR 2.....sounds
like a chipmunk.....like it's in fast forward and real high pitched.   On a
second
computer that I have (K6-2 350), during the sound test the systems boots itself
completely out of the game.  It appears that there are loads of conflicts in
these two systems, but I haven't been able to locate them.  Or else it appears
that this is just a quirk with this particular chipset.

Also on my K6-2 350 system, when I run the sound setup for the game Burnout
NIRA, there is no sound at all.  It keeps saying something about not being able
to initialize sound driver.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greg
