Cheap Wheel

Cheap Wheel

Hi I'm looking for a cheap non Force feedback wheel with split axis pedals
and 2 or more buttons on the wheel.  Any ideas?  It doesn't have to be very
durable as I'm just gonna keep it till I get a TSW.  Preferably under $70.

Thanks in advance

Try the thrustmaster pro digital 2.  $60 and most people give it good marks.

MS Precision Racing wheel.  Got it for $69CAN after rebate.

I like my Logitech Wingman Formula (non-Force). I got it for around
$120 Australian about a year ago. It's the yellw one you're after, not
the red.

I'd second that.  I use the Precision Racing Wheel too and it's excellent
for GPL and meets those requirements.

Another vote for Precision Racing Wheel.  Get used to it, and your
TSW may sit.  Pedals are excellent.

I have the same wheel and the pedals are good and the wheel is smooth.
But, I don't like that center detent. It's one and only flaw, IMO.
Clamping system is excellent so long as you don't have an under the
desk keyboard tray.

The Thrustmaster on-line store is clearing out their NASCAR Pro
Digital I wheels for $35.00 ($11.00 UPS ground) This is the cheapest
wheel I've seen on-line, but I'm not sure if it does split axis. If
memory serves, it seems a little flimsy, has that notch in the center,
and reportedly is a bigger CPU hog than their Pro Digital II...which
doesn't have the notch.

I too, am looking for a temporary wheel before I move up to TSW this
summer...Unless anyone can give me a strong reason not to save $20
bucks and buy the PD2 instead- I'm snagging on this "deal"

The clamping system is probably the best there is on the market.  I
can take off the wheel or put in on my desk it a couple of seconds.  I
have a keyboard tray and it 'just' barely slides in.  I'd say if you
have about 5" of clearance from the lip of the desk to the tray,
you're good to go.

The pedals are too light but you stick on some velcro it ain't going
anywhere on carpet.

Now if only MS made a stick shift.....

Maybe there is a reason why they are only $35.00
I bought the Thrustmaster NASCAR Pro Digital.  The wheel component is great, but
the pedals are very weak and has broken at the pivot point after just a few
hours of playing.
Thrustmaster tech support will not help - don't waste your money on this
product.
You get what you pay for.

Wow, now I'm glad I went with the Sidwinder Precision
instead....regardless of the problems I've experienced with it. The MS
did cost twice as much as the clearance-priced PD1, but Best Buy's
$20.00 rebate softened the blow.

Will Thrustmaster will ever do a wheel *right*?
