and the game was a pure arcade. Don't get me wrong, it was a fun title, but
nothing for the ***
crowd. On the other hand the graphics and car modeling were all astonishing.
A wet practice in Monaco
looked great, with realistic elevation changes and all.
The game did provide me with some fun, but nothing compared to the realism
of GPL.
Cheers.

I also liked the tires. They were very round and realistic. Nothing like
MGPRS2, which I really hate for some reason.

There is a short article in PC Gamer (US) about this game and they say it will have an arcade mode and a simulator mode. Did you try
it in sim mode?

I also have the game after downloading it from a warez site few days
ago... The game indeed is a bit arcadish (Currently I think every racing
game besides GPL is arcadish :-( ).

When you drive from the***pit (That is when you manage to find it)
it's not that bad at all... Graphics look nice indeed and the tracklayouts
also look very good (Lacking some objects on some places though).
The***pit itself looks pretty ugly, lots of squares and triangles but
you'll get used to that very fast...

About the car modeling:
The cornering speeds are a bit high if you ask me...
But besides that it ain't bad... You can lock your brakes and spin
off backwards...

The AI also is pretty good!
They will try to do anything to keep you behind them... Closing doors
at you, when you are next to them on a straight they will come to your
inside a bit and try to make you back off...
Once you really put pressure on an AI by lurking on it's gearbox it
starts to make mistakes and starts locking his brakes and run wide!

The game has some nice options like when you hit a kerb or go
into the grass the entire screen starts to rumble simulating the drivers
head! You can hear the wind wisstle past your helmet aswell!

Beeing arcadish and having a bad***pit is largely compensated by
the AI, graphics and a 1998 FIA license...

I just won my first race today... a 3 lap event at Buenos Aires after which
the game crashed... Let's hope it's because I have a warez version :-)

All in all not that bad... On a scale from 1.0 (bad) to 10.0 (good) I would
give
it a 7.2... It's fun to play but no die-hard simulation like GPL

If anybody wants to see some full screen screenshots mail me and I will
send you them (about 900Kb for 9 shots)

Ps: Did you notice the ferry wheel turning at Japan?

Regards,

There are 2 things poor with this game.  The AI is very slow.  Anyone
who thinks this AI is challenging is a true novice.  And second, the
rain effects are crap.  There's no visible rain fall or water drops on
your visor.  Just the looped sound of rain and a heavy fog on the
track.   The rest of the game is great, especially the sound...

Yup, I only tried sim mode sofar and it's still arcadish... I didn't dare
to use arcade mode yet as I really wonder what I am going to get
there... Guns on my car to shoot Schumi of the track?

Yep, the AI is quite slow, I thought it was because I was racing it
on novice level

ehm.. the tires? I guess you haven't found the***pit view yet...
Tires are very blocky from inside the***pit, the tires look great
though from outside view...

From what I've already heard or seen from this game I assumed it's
just another PowerF1/Johnny Herbert GP type thing. IIRC it's been
finished since 97, got bad press and they decided to try again but
with an official license on board.
Maybe I'm wrong - how does it compare to other F1 sims? I mean the
reference to GPL is certainly of little help here...;)
And apart from car physics how authentic is the rest? I.e.
implementation of rules and flag system, track accuracy (the
screenshots I've seen looked rather dissapointing), wheather options,
pit stops, damage model, tyre wear etc. and most importantly what's
the range of setup options?
Also, is there anything editable in the game?

I have absolutly no idea! That's one of the disadvatages from
Warez... no ***y manual :-) Have you found the key-combo
to get in the***pit? I use the garage option to get inside my
***pit....

Well, it's better as Power F1 or JHGP... It's not as good as MGPRS2
but it ain't bad at all.... Track layouts look very accurate, something
MGPRS2 seriously lacks... At some places it lacks trackobjects though.

About rules and flag system:
I didn't see any marshalls waving flags at all... I didn't really miss them
too..
Backmarkers move out of your way automatically, they won't bother you
at all... About the rules... I tried doing some laps wrong way around
(Don't think I am a sicko who does this on VROC!!! Just testing the game!!)
And I got a black flag and got DSQ'ed

Wheather:
There are 3 options... Random, sunny and rain... You won't see any
raindrops coming from the sky though.

Pitstops:
Haven't tried them yet as I haven't found the pitsignal key...
See post above...

Damage model:
Sofar I "only" damaged a few front wing and bumped of some
front wheels Looks cool... The wing didn't came off but was
*** loose.. The wheels didn't break off but they "snapped"
and where still on the car, but I haven't had hard carshes yet...
The pitmesages are cool "Your front wing is damaged!"
Cool voice .... but... When I hit a wall and my wheel came loose
I got a message "Come in! You need new tires!" ***y hell
I needed a whole new wheel and suspension, not a tire!

Tire wear:
Haven't had time to make long runs.

Setups:
Also hadn't much time to try but looks ok... You can adjust
brakes, wings, tyre pressures, type of tires, suspension
and much more...

Keys to change views are on the Insert, Home, etc. bunch of keys.
I can't find the pit button either :(

Yup, the sounds are very good... The engines sound as they
do on TV, so....
