Since the developer is the same, this game has a shot as being every bit as
good as the Dreamcast version.

Le Mans 24 Hour Details
PlayStation 2: We got all the details and new screens on Infogrames'
promising PlayStation 2 version of its Test Drive Le Mans racer.
The final version of the game will offer up 70 official cars of Le Mans 24
Hour race. That's 30 more than was seen in the Dreamcast version for those
counting. The cars are in three broad classes: GT (22 cars) and Prototypes
(48 cars). Before you say that's only two, the prototype class is divided in
to two categories: open (LMP) and closed (LMGTP) prototypes.
Some of the hotrods you'll be able to grab the wheel of include Audi R8,
Cadillac LMP, Panoz Spyder LMP, Courage C52, Toyota GT-One, Nissan R390 GT1,
GTC Competition, Panoz Esperante GTR1, Lister Storm GTL, BMW V12 LMR, Nissan
R391, Riley & Scott MKIII S2, and Chrysler Viper GTS-R. There are also four
bonus cars to discover.
Some of the realism in the game comes from pit stop management, with full 3D
animated mechanics. Watch them fuel, change tyres, adjust downforce and
perform general repairs. There are also animated drivers, random weather
conditions, and effects such as smoke, dust, sparks, backfires, shadows, sun
glare and car lights. As you'd expect with a 24 race, there will be both day
and night racing conditions.
An impressive five game modes will accompany the final cut. These are Le
Mans mode (participate in the legendary endurance race and compete against
23 other cars during a 24 hours race), Quick Race (take part to single
races), Championship (billed as a very challenging mode), Time Trial
(improve your own records), and of course Multiplayer (for up to two players
only).
The 12 tracks will include the likes of Bugatti, Brno, Donington National,
Donington Grand Prix, Catalunya National, Catalunya Grand Prix, Suzuka
National, Suzuka Medium, Suzuka Grand Prix and the legendary Le Mans 24
Hours track. There will also be new tracks of Road Atlanta (Petit Le Mans)
and Road Atlanta Grand Prix. All tracks are faithfully represented according
to the developer.
Up to 24 competitors can be displayed on the same track in the Le Mans mode.
There are three difficulty levels, and four different driving views. The
game also features random failures and computer opponents can also make
mistakes.
The game is currently scheduled to be released sometime in June.
