Nascar3 Settings

Dear r.a.s.

I've been hard at work tweaking my Nascar3 files.  I've got the
drivers stats working great (No Dave Marcis will never win a race),
and I've got the AI running great (Three wide at Tally).  Now I'm
trying to find out what the realistic numbers are for the pit windows
for each track.  I downloaded a file a long time ago from The Pits or
Sim ***world that had this info, but it doesn't seem to be
realistic.  Plus I've been to every Nascar site on the net and can't
find statistics on this.  Just how far can the real drivers in Nascar
go before they either run out of fuel or *** without the aid of a
caution?  Any help would be nice....

Thanks,
Rubens

Hi Rubens!

What I do is, test my own fuel autonomy, and adjust the AI's pit window
in a way that it forces me to strech mine by beeing conservative.
It makes it more realistic and more challenging.
It should be close to real windows, but even if it's not, it's better
than having an advantage or severe disadvantage over the AI...

Cheers!

Chris Roy

Chris,

Hey Thanks....

I've been doing that already and was wondering if the sim was anywhere
near close to the real tracks as far as pit windows.  I guess I should
have rephrased my question.  The problem I'm having is that my tires
run out WAY before my fuel does and wanted to know if this is the case
in real nascar races....  I know that you can extend the tire life in
the track text files under the TIRES line.  What I wanted to do is
tweak this line until my tire life matches close to the real life cars
in nascar.  Once I have that set, then I'd go in and adjust the pit
window for the AI to be competitive.  I've checked everywhere for info
on this to include news stories on races and can't find anywhere where
this info could be found.  Thanks again for your response.
