Glad to know that someone wants to push Papyrus to do a NASCAR Racing 3 after NASCAR
Racing 2.
Do you mean NASCAR 2 or 3?

1) Engine wear "damage". In other words, if you sit in the draft too long,
the car should overheat, and if you go past the red-line too many times,
the engine blows, or oil-pressure drops which makes the car overheat.
2) Brake wear "damage"- Have the brakes "go away" if over used or abused.
This would have a dramatic effect on driving style on short tracks and road
course.
Of course, the user should be allowed to toggle these things off, and the
AI should suffer from the same maladies.
3) AI - change the logic so that each AI drivers' "expertise" changes
slightly from lap to lap. This might cause them to drive a little too hard
into the turn or to brake too soon, or to spin out, or even mis-judge the
distance between themselves and the car in front/beside them. The
"expertise" level should not decrease each time since most drivers will pay
closer attention when they come close to slamming the wall or drift down
onto the apron/grass. Also, add a "Consistency" setting in the drivers.txt
file (like the power, agression, and drag settings) which governs the
"expertise" parameter.
(Consistency settings and expertise level would have no effect on the human
driver since he determines his own consistency simply by driving.)
