This is a list of things "That you owe yourself" to do with Nascar 2.
1. Own a P133+
2. Buy a Rendition Board
3. Buy a steering wheel.
4. Show firends and collegues who either own a pc or like fun a lot.
5. Organize a place to meet and network up.
Do the above and thank me later. It's easier than one would expect.
I had Dana Bailes (regular reader here and a much better racer than my group,
were now converting are racing tendencies) over Sunday with his setup to add
to my 4 and I think he'll agree it was a splendid time. Also that day a friend
I haven't spoke to for a while came over and he owns single player Nascar 2
SVGA and plays with a keyboard. He was so impressed he already bought a
steering wheel and is quickly gonna get a rendition board. He will then bring
his system over to make 6. Talked with an engineer who has a P133
verite/Nascar combo already, he's inked in to our next gathering. I have the
owners son coming over soon (he's the guy who can really afford it!) so will
be putting on the sales pitch and I just talked to the owner today and he
seems pretty interested. Add to the fact the group that I normally play with,
one guy is gonna buy a whole system from scratch it looks like and another is
heavily contemplating upgrading MB and video card. To top it all off not one
is a diehard Nascar fan (Dana is), granted none hate it either. But you don't
by any stretch have to be a Nascar fan, you just have to be a fan of racing
for fun. I'm finding this an easy sell. Dana who regularly races on Hawaii was
very satisfied with the experience, stating that lan playing still adds more
e***ment since the players are right there and the people who aren't racing
a current race do their own shoddy examples of color cmmentating which is fun
to listen to as you race. Needless to say their is no latency either. So go
out of your way a little, you have a game that can impress a LOT of people
(I've only met one person who shrugged it off and am planning on having a
decent conversation with him as to why, I know him well and he's fooling
himself ATM). Those people you impress will be willing (obviously if they
already own most of the hardware) to move systems over to a location for a day
of racing.
