I just bought ICR2 the other day for about $12.  I've been racing NASCAR 2 and
thought I would give the open wheels a shot.  I bought the CD-rom version and
installed both the DOS version and the Win 95 version.  I finally got the DOS
version working.  I can run the Win 95 version under Windows 95 but it's awful
choppy.  I haven't upgraded my computer yet.  Still running a 486 with an
overdrive processor.  It clocks about like a P100.  So, here's my question.
The manual states that I should be about to restart the computer in MS-DOS and
be able to run the Win 95 version.  When I try to execute the command "windy",
it states that it can only run in a windows environment.  Is there a way around
this or am I stuck using the DOS version?

I know ICR2 has been out a long time, so pardon me if this question has been
asked before.  While running ICR2, I can see why the NASCAR boys don't covert
to indycars.  I am all over the track.  Good thing those walls are there.  It
gives me something to bounce off of.  Thanks for any assistance anyone can give
me.

...and the manual says you can't run the DOS version directly from Win95,
without rebooting, but you can.  Use Notepad to make a file named "indy.bat".
The text of the should read, "indycar.exe -h" (just "indycar.exe" for VGA
graphics); don't type the quotation marks.  Save in your ICR2 folder.  Find the
file in My Computer or Elplorer.  Right-click on it and choose "Properties".
On Program tab, choose normal window for run, check close on exit.  On Memory
tab, set all to auto.  On Screen tab, choose full-screen, initial size default.
On Misc. tab, UNcheck Allow screen saver.  Put a shortcut to this BAT file on
your start menu, and the sim will run when you click on it.

Could be because you' re running it in MS-DOS while in windows. Have you
tried it just from DOS?
