ICR2 mouse emm386 lockups

I am running CART racing (ICR2) rendition version with a Stealth 220.  I
have a multi-boot setup for WIN95 so I run in DOS mode without going
into Windows (but not operating in DOS).  I have used v2dosfix to get
CART to recognize the Stealth but have not fooled around with sp3d.uc at
all. It runs well in terms of graphics but I get lockups if I pause the
game or loiter in the menus.  Is there a fix for this?  To use the newer
sp3d.uc, do I really have to boot dos multiple times to swap sp3d.uc's?

Second question.  I have deleted all references to EMM386 in
autoexec.bat.  Does this game do better without EMM386?

Last question:  When I try to run the paintkit, it does not recognize my
mouse even though I am loading the driver.  I hate to leave the windows
version of CART on my drive just to run Paintkit in windows.  Anybody
have any thoughts or ideas?

TIA

ICR2-3D has always had a tendancy to lock after entering a track, and then
exiting to select another...Is the game locking when loading and NOT
selecting race, etc.?

I run emm386 both straight and with the NOEMS switch with no problem.
However, when running with emm386 (or some other memory manager installed),
memory may become fragmented.  ICR2-3D may run slower in fragmented memory,
so you might want to leave emm386 out.

Run the paintkit in a DOS box from within Win95...Your mouse drivers will
remain loaded, and you can paint to your heart's content.  =)

Cheers!

Marc
