I just replaced my tired IBM PS/1 486/ 20 mHz with a gateway 2000
233 mHz Pentium 2. I loaded N1 and when I tried to initialize the sound it
failed. I did it manually and when I test sound the computer freezes. Any
suggestions?

I've got the same problem with a fairly new P133 Gateway. Gateway has
been no help at all. They just sort of intimate that this has been a
problem for maybe a lot of people. Someone in this group surely has
figured this out before. Please help.
