N1 runs slow

by Markus Luom » Sat, 18 Jul 1998 04:00:00

Hi!

I installed Nascar Racing to my computer and it runs
slow in SVGA-mode. I have 200 MHz AMD K6 -processor,
64 MB memory and ATI 3D Rage Pro -graphig card with
8 MB memory. There is about 600 kB free conventional
memory to run programs.

My OS is W95 and I run Nascar in DOS -mode. I've installed
ATI's VESA BIOS extension called MACH64, but this
don't seem to help - I had to turn almost every detail off to make game
playable. Indycar Racing II for example runs with every detail on just fine.
Why won't N1?

Install the UniVBE that came with the sim...Things should
smooth out a bit.

Cheers!

Marc

N1 runs slow

I would not expect the same frame-rates from N1 as
from Indycar2.  If you are playing with 39 cars,
be sure to only display 8-10 in the front and 2 in
the rear.

I loved that Papyrus made a Matrox patch for N1.
It made the game awesome -- full graphics while
drawing all 39 cars :)

Jason.
