Australia track in ICR 2

I've been racing the Australian track recently to get ready for the
beginning of the season and I'm a little stymied as to how to get near
the record times I've seen on the web.  My best time is 1:42 and I've
seen low 1:20s on the Internet ICR2 Record times page
(http://www.racesimcentral.net/), which seems to
have gone away, by the way.

I can see various places where I can improve a second here or a second
there (well, ok, maybe a couple seconds there), but I'm not quite sure
where I'd shave off 20 seconds.  Does anybody have a replay of a <1:30
time I could watch to see how the course is being run?  Any settings
tips would certainly also be welcomed.

Thanks.

 Any settings
At the risk of embarassing myself, I can tell you that I have been
working pretty hard at Australia also, and I feel I am about half-way
through the "setup development" process.  I am now turning 1:32.5 or
so pretty regularly, and I have only just begun to fool around with
the wing settings from the ACE setup.  Most of my work has been with
tire pressures and camber adjustments.  I spent a couple of sessions
messing around with the brake-bias adjustment, which I had never
really worked with before.  I also spent some time with the anti-roll
bars, and then went after the camber and pressures.  The problem with
Australia as far as I can tell is that getting heat into the front
tires is nearly impossible.  I have no problem getting the rear tires
into the 205 range, but the fronts almost never break 160 degrees.  I
suspect with some wing adjustments, I may be able to shave another few
seconds off.  Also, I am just starting to think about the gearing, and
may go with smaller 3rd-6th gears.  Incidentally, I only race with the
weather conditions at "Random," so I'm never likely to get that 60
degree day that some racers like to have for setting fast times.  I
like the challenge of dealing with the weather myself.

The other advice, of course, is practice your kahunas off.  There are
some non-intuitive lines to be found through the second chicane
leading onto the Main Beach Parade, and also at the final chicane on
the circuit before Conrad Jupiters Corner.  Don't be afraid to
practice with other cars on the course.  Go to the Practice portion of
a race weekend, and set the AI slow.  Gradually inch up the
competition, until you are running with them.  You should find
yourself picking up time here and there.  Call me crazy, but I love
the Australia circuit.  It's like the game within the game.

Cheers,

Pooch

Can't help ya, I'm only at 1:45.  Now that, for me was a big improvement
over a few months ago when I last tried Australia.  The biggest secret is
getting your car stable by cutting the graphics til you get a good frame
rate.  I was horrible with most graphics turned on, when I bit the bullet
and turned most off, I got faster very quickly.  Of course faster is still
a relative term since I too am 20+ seconds off of the pros...

The best Ive done is 1:29 but lost my setup when I reinstalled the game
due to new hard drive. My best now is only 1:33. If you want my setup and
are using a wheel send me a e mail and I'll send it to ya.
