Spirit of Speed 1937 - 3dfx trouble

by Angu » Tue, 21 Dec 1999 04:00:00

Hi all,
I got the Spirit of Speed demo and installed it the other day - everything
went fine until I actually got in to the game - it was as slow as ***y!!
I discovered that this was because it was running off my S3 Virge and not my
VooDoo 2. I found the config program to change the card - but when I ran the
demo again it was still slow. I exited and ran the config program again - it
had changed the card to use back to the Primary Display Driver(S3 Virge)!!
Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone fixed it?
Thanks in advance,
Angus.

That's why I didn't bother with the demo (apart from the lousy reviews
everyone's given it). It seems the the demo is only the D3D version.

Yes!! I did have the problem with the whole game!! Brought it back right
away....such a nice season, with such fabulous tracks, and such a
dissapointment...

Damn...with 10 cars it was a slide-slow (not, not a figure of speach...A
REAL SLIDE SHOW!!!) :))

had problems too when i installed then ran config. program.......kept
going back to my primary card.     worked off my voodoo cards when i
reinstalled and didn't run config.              it still is in need of
a patch tho'.....seems to struggle when too many cars, taking down
detail etc doesn't alleviate this either.
