Like all of you, I am now counting the minutes until the release of GP3 and
I must say that the 14 days we (hopefully) have left to wait are going to
seem very long ones.
I was thinking about the significance of this release on a visit to EB this
morning.
It would be fair to say that this year has to date seen little to get all of
us at r.a.s e***d. The two F1 games we have already been offered in 2000
have both been the usual mixture of the excellent marketing/ mediocre
gameplay composite. Other racing releases have been similarly run of the
mill.
Against this background, there is a hell of a lot of pressure for Mr
Crammond to provide us with the game we all want and deserve.
In an r.a.s post a couple of days ago, I focused on the "D notice" that
this game appears to have been subjected to i.e. if I'm not mistaken no
press reviews have appeared of the near definitive GP3 we will all hopefully
have our hands in a fortnight's time.
Again standing to be corrected, I also find the lack of information about
the game having gone gold/having not gone gold a little disconcerting.
That said, I would gladly wait a while longer for any last minute bugs to be
ironed out, rather than suffer the usual pains of waiting for a patch to
appear.
So the essence of this message is if anyone officially connected with GP3 is
reading r.a.s postings, please give us an update as we'd all very much like
to know if our bank accounts will be lightened to the tune of about 30 at
the end of this month.
